Rekindling - Part 4

Mission: Episode 1: Planetary Exploration
Location: Thorynthar, Zyntheria Prime

The next week rolled around. Tharynos, Myren and his parents stood in the main lobby of the Starfleet Headquarters on Zyntheria Prime. Thar was in his Starfleet uniform. The black pants and red jacket. He still had the grey division strap over his right shoulder, and would get the white one later on. He hugged his mother, then his father and bid them goodbye. They both left to give him some time with Myren. They embraced and their lips locked. They touched their foreheads. They had spent the last week on a resort in the tropical part of the planet enjoying their newly rekindled love. It was something he didn’t expect from this trip. He knew it would be brought up, but not like this. He was happy it ended like this.

They brought their lips apart and she ran her hand down the front of the uniform. “I kind of like the uniform.”

“Thanks.” He said quietly, suddenly not wanting to leave.

Over the loud speaker, “Transport for Deep Space Station K-3 departing in 20 minutes. Please report to the transporter bay to begin boarding procedures.”

“I have to go. I love you.” Thar said.

“I love you too.” This time she kissed him.

Tharynos stepped back. His parents joined him again and he gave them one last hug. He grabbed his duffle and went through the security gate. He pulled out his ID and handed it to the security officer who confirmed his identity and went off. Thar turned around and waved one more time, before following the crowd out of sight.

The waiting queue for the transporter wasn’t that bad. Within 10 minutes he was beamed up to the orbital station and was on the Starfleet transport that would take him to K-3. It was a three day journey at warp 6 to get there. He was assigned a bunk, and he settled in. Though he was sad to leave Myren, he was excited to start this new journey. Commanding a starship for the time being. However long that may be.

The transport undocked from the station and made its way into open space and jumped to warp. Leaving Zyntheria Prime lightyears behind.
